HWBOT 3DMark2001 SE Benchmark Validation Regulations

Allowed benchmark versions
Allowed operating systems
Default benchmark settings1024x768x32, compressed textures, D3D Pure Hardware T&L, No Antialiasing, Double Frame Buffer, 24 bit Z-Buffer

It is allowed to run non default settings with graphics cards older than 2001 that don’t support default features. The resolution must still be the default 1024x768x32.

ScoreThe score is obtained after running the seven game tests.

  • Disable unnecessary tests
  • Run game tests one by one
  • LOD
Disallowed tweaks/cheats
  • Altering benchmark files or the rendering
  • Any software or human interaction altering the perceived speed of the benchmark program, tricking it to believe it ran faster
  • Lucid Virtu MVP
  • Mipmap
  • Change benchmark settings

Command Line Options:



- On Windows Vista and newer, if nothing happens after you run the app, open task manager, kill the process, open the app again and set CPU affinity to 1 or 2.

I just found a patch that fixes the "3DMark2001 SE was not able to detect 128MB of memory" problem and automatically sets the CPU affinity to 1. Making running this app quite a bit easier on modern systems.

I've tested the patch and the uninstaller and both worked perfectly.
